How To Tell If It Is An Eczema Rash

If you think you have eczema you will need to consult with a doctor to be sure. But there are some symptoms of an eczema rash that make it pretty likely that you should see your doctor to determine if it is indeed eczema.

If you have a skin rash that itches or if that rash is bumpy, scaly or patchy you should consult your doctor. The other symptoms that require a visit to the doctor are a skin rash that appeared for the first time before you were age five and if that rash shows up on different parts of the body. If your rash shows up and goes away only to show up again. Very sensitive skin that is dry and a personal family history of eczema all warrant a trip to the doctor.

An eczema rash can be quite uncomfortable for the person who has it. It itches and generally makes life quite miserable. Only a doctor can determine if you actually have eczema. The diagnosis is the first important step to getting treatment for your eczema rash. The doctor will need to determine the severity and the type of eczema you have before an effective treatment plan can be prescribed.

Whatever the cause of your itchy rash you should have it checked by a professional that will know how to treat it. You shouldn't assume that you have eczema. A different condition could be responsible for your rash and that will require a different treatment plan. A rash could be an indication of another health condition that could be more serious than eczema. It is important that you show your doctor the next time you visit or make a special appointment to have it checked out.

The treatment of eczema is not an easy one. It is a very stubborn condition that may require many different treatment plans before one is settled on. The most important part of your treatment plan is getting an official diagnosis of eczema. Only then can you begin the search for the best treatment options.

Whatever kind of eczema you have you will undoubtedly want relief from the itching that has been keeping you up at night. The more you are affected by the itch and irritation of your skin rash the more stressed you are likely to become. That stress only adds to your problem. Stress is a major factor in the outbreak of eczema rashes. Get a diagnosis and start to find some relief for your eczema rash.
